The Importance Of Mental Health

Smile; even when things feel tough.
Be Grateful; when everything seems chaotic.
Be Still; when everything seems to be moving too fast.
Breathe; when your mind’s compressed with overwhelming thoughts.
Mental Health is so important.
Taking care of yourself should be your number one priority. How can a person fully love/care for others when they aren’t doing that for themselves.
From past experiences of putting other people before me for many years, I slowly lost myself to the point that I forgot how to take care of MYSELF.
It may sound unrealistic to some, but it happens too many people. Over the years in relationships, marriages, friendships, etc. If there is not a healthy give and take along with own self-care. Over time it’ll turn into a downhill spiral of soul loss.
It has taken me over a year of lots of soul healing. Some days were very dark. I didn’t even know who I was; it didn’t feel like it was me talking. It was like I was not in control.
Until I realized I was reacting through my past, I knew I had to dig deep to heal what I buried away—pain from childhood into teenage years, then most of my 20’s. I am still getting hit with events I never wanted to face.
Now that I’m facing them, I am becoming more assertive and realizing I went through them to become who I am today.
Most people have a choice of what kind of life they want to live. First, it takes acknowledging and then forgiving. It takes a lot of forgiveness to those who caused you pain and most honourably forgiving yourself for not loving yourself a little more.
Are you or anyone you know struggling with Self-Care?
I may not be a professional, but I'm honest and would love to help!
